TORRANCE, CA (July, 2021) – The Torrance Art Museum (TAM) is proud to announce this summer’s premier event called Nomad, a pop-up of contemporary art. Nomad will be the biggest free art show event in Southern California history, featuring 500 artists in 87,000 sq ft of raw space in Del Amo Crossing, a mid-century modern building in Torrance. The former medical building will showcase multiple floors dedicated to works of all media types and disciplines. DJ’s and live performance art will be featured at select times throughout the weekend.
Nomad will also host the TAMA ODYSSEY fundraiser throughout the weekend. TAMA (Torrance Art Museum Advocates) is a non-profit, community-based volunteer organization that serves to support TAM endeavors. All artworks will be priced at $100 and is designed to encourage collectors while supporting the museum’s efforts.
Nomad also works as a closing event to Ultra!, TAM’s adventurous inaugural public art project that launched on Saturday, July 17 and features 20 artworks located at various sites across the City of Torrance.
An Ultra! guidemap is available as a handout in print and viewable online at TorranceArtMuseum.com, giving the location of all the artworks and activity sites.
Nomad is free and open to the public on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29 from Noon-5pm.
Nomad will adhere to all State and local health & safety guideline requirements. Masks are mandatory for entry. All programs, schedules, and locations are subject to change.
