MAIN GALLERY: SUR:BIENNIAL

Founded in 2011, the SUR:biennial seeks to explore the complex notions of globalization and exchange that takes place in the ambiguous borderlands between Los Angeles and the broader 'South.' Each of the independently-curated biennial exhibitions in the 6th edition showcase recent and newly-commisioned works by local and international artists who have been influenced by the cultures and artistic traditions of Mexico, Central & South America, and the Caribbean.

GALLERY TWO: SOCIAL FABRIC

An exhibition of socially engaged fiber art which investigates, gender, representation, and the new norms of our social media society through the softened lens of fabric, plush and yarn.

Curated by Sue-Na Gay.
Featured artists: Natalie Baxter, Mimi O. Chun, Kayla Mattes, Threadwinners (Alyssa Arney & Liz Flynn), Nathan Vincent, Megan Whitmarsh.

DARK ROOM: VIDEOWORDS
VideoWords is the fifth special project by Magmart. With this new project, the focus is this time on words. Fifteen pairs of words, antinomical to each other, which represent as many aspects of life, emotions and human expectations. Thirty international artists, therefore, are called to interpret these words - what they represent - trying to weave a dialogue with the public.
